The Learning Reinvented Podcast - Episode 40 - Buyer Beware
Wednesday Apr 13, 2022
Wednesday Apr 13, 2022
Welcome to another edition of the Learning Reinvented podcast, brought to you by The Learning Effect Team.
In this episode hosts Katie Godden and James Poletyllo explore issues around honesty and transparency in the promotion of goods and services. Whilst highly relevant to the work of learning technology and learning services providers it also touches all areas of our lives where we consume products and services. Through our discussion we look at a number of areas from childcare to coaching where the accreditations and benchmarks might not be what they say they are. This is a theme we will return to over the coming year as we look to raise awareness and share knowledge across our network as we look to collectively become more savvy in our buying decisions. The other side of this is to hold suppliers and organisations to account for misleading practices.
The Learning Reinvented Podcast aims to bring a variety of new and different voices to talk about the current and future state of learning at work. We want our conversations to be though provoking, useful and real world. We appreciate your thoughts and feedback to help achieve this.

About the Guest – Matthew John Murphy
Matthew would describe what he does as “a little complicated”. As a trained graphic designer his creativity and EQ have combined to allow him to work for the last 11 years far outside the remit of just graphic design. Although graphic design remains his bread and butter, he is finding passion and purpose in producing video, both for himself and his clients. As a big advocate of mental health, he’s not only been exploring the external, but also the internal, through an ongoing series of artworks and interviews with a mental health focus. He is good with people and good with the camera, so these two are combining to create a sense of purpose, something Matthew has been looking for lately.
